Share
The best way to make your Egyptian cotton towels last longer is to take proper care of them. Towels absorb large amounts of dirt and body oils with any liquid and should be laundered frequently, just follow these instructions and you’ll find towels that add both style and comfort to your bathroom.
(Before using your towels, wash them once to help set their color, improve absorbency and reduce any lint)
- Only wash cotton with cotton. Other fabric fibers can cause aggravation. Your cotton could pill faster and look older after just a few washes.
- Make sure to separate dark towels and light ones before putting anything into the washing machine.
- Use a gentle washing cycle.
- Choose the right temperature:
- Colored 100% Egyptian cotton towels wash best at 40 degrees – but avoid above 60.
- White 100% Egyptian cotton towels can reach 90-degree wash. - Avoid using fabric softeners or conditioners.
- Wash White cotton towels with a small amount of detergent and non-chlorine bleach, and colored towels with a small amount of detergent and a color-safe bleach if necessary.
- Add a spoon of white vinegar to the last wash. That’s gets them soft and fluffy without coating the fibers like fabric conditioner does also removes any soap residuals.
- Once you have them out of the washer, be sure to give your towels long enough to just dry fully, either hung for air drying or in the dryer (Tumble dry), but not too long, as over-drying can compromise cotton fiber integrity.
Fold your clean towels to preserve the fluffy feel of your towels with a folding method that helps prevent extra wear which depends on what you prefer, store or just display them, as on a shelf, in a cabinet, or across your bathroom towel bar.
